With the Google Nexus 7 coming officially in the next few days here’s how users can get a replacement and refund if they need it.
Google Nexus 7 has already begun prebooking and is going to start shipping to users starting April 5. But as the shipping date closes in, more and more people are getting confused about how to get after sales support from the company. Google, due to its absence from the physical retail space in India, will be offering support through its online system.
The device will come with a 15 day refund policy, which means that users who purchase and get the tablet delivered at their address will be eligible for a full refund on the price of the tablet provided it is retuned within 15 days and without the retail pack being opened.
Users will have to contact Google’s support team by phone on 1800 108 8485 to return their device. After that, Google will send a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) in an email to the users as a receipt. Upon receiving the device the refund will be initiated and the price of the tablet will be refunded to users minus shipping cost, if any.
Along with that Google Nexus 7 comes with a standard 1 year warranty against defects arising due to manufacturing and not due to improper handling or usage. In such scenarios users would be required to contact Google’s help center by phone on 1800 108 8485, following which they will work with users to solve problems if possible. If not then Google might disable the device upon the user’s consent and will connect users to local partners, who will guide them for repairs or replacements.
All in all, Google will provide doorstep delivery and pickup of the faulty device, which is a big relief to the users and also answers the problem of not having physical stores around the country.
Faulty devices that are recalled by Google or its partners will be verified and necessary repairs will be made on them. If repairs are not possible a new device will be dispatched to the user in the following five days.
