Samsung UK has announced the launch of its Galaxy Note 8.0 – which can be purchased starting today (April 5) at the Samsung Experience Store in Westfield Stratford City, London. The tablet will be available at other locations in the near future.
Oddly, Samsung doesn’t say ho much the Galaxy Note 8.0 costs. But it looks like this is the Wi-Fi + 3G version – so it’s certainly a bit more expensive than the Wi-Fi-only edition (currently priced at £371.99 – but not yet released). Update: in fact, the Note 8.0 that can be bought now in London is the 16GB Wi-Fi version, and it costs £339.
Samsung is throwing in lots of pre-loaded content and services, offered to those who buy the Note 8.0 before April 15: a £20 Samsung Learning Hub voucher, 1 month free access to Samsung Music Hub, 50GB of storage space on DropBox (for 2 years), free trial subscription to The Times (two months), AVG Anti-Virus Pro, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, and Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2.
In the coming weeks, the Galaxy Note 8.0 should be widely available in the UK, as well as in other European markets. It’s not clear if its LTE version will be released this month though.
Announced in February as an obviously smaller alternative to the Galaxy Note 10.1, the Note 8.0 runs Android Jelly Bean, and features a 1280 x 800 pixels display, Samsung’s S Pen technology, 2GB of RAM, quad-core Exynos 4412 processor, and a 4,600 mAh battery.
