KYMI enlists the top 10 smartphones from the MWC 2013 to look out for when the mobile fiesta ends
Things have been in full swing at the ongoing MWC in Barcelona, Spain. We bring you the main highlights of the major mobile conference so far.
1. Asus Padfone Infinity
Asus has been bringing quite the ground breaking smartphones under the Padfone series and the latest member of the Padfone family is the Padfone Infinity. It will come with a 5-inch 1080p resolution display with a mammoth 441ppi. It uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset with a quad-core Krait 300 CPU clocked at 1.7GHz which is pretty much what you would get on a flagship smartphone from any company.
2. ZTE Grand Memo
The 5.7-inch phablet with a screen of 720p resolution will be quite popular once it gets launched. The device uses the Snapdragon 600 chipset which has its cores clocked at 1.5 GHz. Taking care of the graphics department will be a Adreno 330 GPU.
3. Nokia Lumia 720
The mid ranger was announced at the MWC 2013 and will be spearheading Nokia’s attack on the mid range smartphones dominated by droids so far. Successor to the highly popular Lumia 710, Lumia 720 is set to strengthen Nokia’s mid-range market.
4. Alcatel One Touch Idol X
The smartphone arrives with a 5-inch screen which will have a resolution of 1080p and will run on Android Jelly Bean. Processing power will be provided by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor while the 13-megapixel camera shall take care of your photography needs.
5. Huawei Ascend P2
Huawei announced the Ascend P2 which will come with a screen of 4.7-inches with a 720p resolution, 1 GB of RAM and a 1.5 Ghz quad core processor. It will also house a 16 GB non expandable memory to take care of your multimedia content.
6. LG Optimus G Pro
LG announced the successor to its LG Optimus G at the MWC. The device carries on the legacy of the Optimus G and will come with a 5.5-inch IPS 1080p screen and the processing power will be derived from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset. Other goodies include quad-core Krait 300, Adreno 320 GPU and a 13 megapixel camera.
7. LG Optimus F7
LG Optimus F7 features a 4.7-inch True HD IPS 720p display along with a decent 1.5GHz dual-core processor coupled with a 2GB RAM. It will have a 8-megapixel camera along with a 8 GB of on-board storage.
8. LG Optimus F5
The affordable LG Optimus F5 flaunts a 4.3-inch IPS LCD display of qHD resolution with the pixel density standing at 256 ppi. A 1.2 GHz dual-core processor will do the processing, a gig of RAM will take care of multi-tasking abilities and a 5-megapixel camera will come handy to take pictures on the go.
9.Nokia Lumia 520
The budget smartphone will hit the retail shelves starting April and will bring the Windows Phone 8 experience on budget. The device will retail at a meager price of $183 which means it will be quite the popular device when it hits the stores.
Well on one hand ZTE announced a phablet with top of the line specs and on the other hand, they announced a budget smartphone as well. The ZTE Open will run on Firefox OS and will come with a a 3.5-inch HVGA screen, a 1 GHz single core processor and 256 MB of RAM. The rear of the device will see a modest 3.2 megapixel snapper.
